Light pierces her innocent eyes.
They tremble open.
A reflection of a
Desolate, barren
World, flickers
In her eyes.
A black disc darker than the
Depths of the universe.
A black hole, luring light,
And the neighbouring swishes of
Clouds littered across her pupils,
Into its perpetual might.
Her eyes are overwhelmed
By the gentle vortex.
Blurring reason and truth.
Her eyelids shut.
And a helpless tear escapes.
Her soul screams.
Screams that go unheard.
The tender tear meanders down the
Soft contours of her blissful
Face. Gliding effortlessly on her
Silky skin. Its trail smears
Her beauty in its wake.
Suspended within its
Delicate membrane,
A tonic of a mystifying
Essence.
The secret of life?
Shatters onto the floor.
A wall of memories
Crashes away into a
Quaint calm.
A painless hurt.
An undiscovered pain.
A drop carved from our
Very essence.
Through wounds forced
Open. We expose our souls,
Impelling them to bear witness
To the inescapable pain,
That is life’s shadow.
The fallen tear is to a Soul,
That which a fallen soldier is
To an army.
