Smothered in joy and hurt
And so was panacea – a full-blown cure
Ready to dissolve
with those threatened emerald eyes
Your chameleon self
Torn between the two of us
Healing and growing, withering and dying
Lobster sticks and crab meat
we sobbed at our lack of sense of self – care free beings
Intertwined with lace and ribbon
I wrapped you up into my clouded vision
My dreams and subtle realities
Allowed you to converse myth and fairytales
and exchange our fables
Yet death approached
And our souls let go
Of time and Venus
The anger you felt
When I cried out to the constellations
Cursing them with my mightiest wrath
And so the lions within us
roared at our despair
And the closed opening
Penetrated my heart
and indulged in my sea of thought
You held my blossom cheeks
and kissed my dimpled shiny skin
Your coarse lips on my rippled face.
Soothed frost on my fingertips
And the bluest bruises faded black
Your cunning let me go
So indeed our souls did abase
And fleeting chariots we rode
